Every time I walk into the operating room, I am reminded that a patient and their family have placed their trust in our hands during one of the most vulnerable moments of their lives.
Behind every procedure is a story. A father who wants more time with his children. A mother hoping to watch her grandchildren grow. A patient who simply wants the chance to live life fully again.
The responsibility is immense, but so is the honor.
I am grateful every day to work alongside extraordinary nurses, perfusionists, anesthesiologists, physician assistants, and surgical colleagues who make these life-saving operations possible. Cardiac surgery is the ultimate team effort.
Surgery demands long hours, sacrifice, and constant dedication. But the opportunity to restore someoneโs health and give families more time together is a privilege that never gets old.
I never take that privilege for granted.
