Disease Doesn’t Always Announce Itself

With permission from the patient to post, a powerful reminder that heart disease doesnโ€™t always announce itself.
This 55-year-old patient from Ocala, Florida, had a strong family history of coronary artery diseaseโ€”but very few warning signs. In many cases like hers, heart disease can be silentโ€ฆ until itโ€™s not.

Fortunately, she was diagnosed in time and underwent urgent coronary artery bypass surgery using bilateral internal mammary arterial graftingโ€”one of the most durable and effective techniques we have. Just five days later, sheโ€™s heading home feeling strong, grateful, and full of life.

We begin our conversation in Spanish, but continue mostly in Englishโ€”because in any language, our health is universal. Her story is a reminder to listen to your body, know your risks, and never ignore your heart.
