A Little About My Career

There are moments in a career that feel bigger than titles or accomplishments. This is one of them.

I began my surgical journey at Jefferson Health, where I had the privilege of training under extraordinary mentors who shaped not only my career, but who I am as a physician. Their influence has stayed with me every step of the way.

After 27 remarkable years at Lehigh Valley Health Network, I’ve now come full circle—returning to Jefferson as Chief of Cardiac Surgery at Jefferson Einstein Montgomery Hospital, and as a Clinical Professor of Surgery at the Sidney Kimmel Medical College.

Jefferson’s legacy in cardiac and thoracic surgery is unmatched. From Dr. John H. Gibbon Jr.’s pioneering work in open-heart surgery to the generations of surgeons trained here, it is an institution that has helped shape the course of modern medicine.

To return to this environment at this stage of my career is deeply meaningful. As I look ahead, I’m grateful for the opportunity to contribute, to mentor, and to be part of a team that continues to advance care for our patients every day.

Sometimes, the most meaningful journeys bring you right back to where you started.
