Reconnecting with My Past

When I met Carl to discuss his need for valve and aneurysm surgery, he told me that he was a former boxer and that his father was also a prizefighter. I said, “So was my Dad.” He asked, “Who was your Dad?” When I told him my Dad was Al Singer, he said, “Seriously, Al Singer?!”

Turns out, our fathers were friends and sparing partners in the early 1940’s! So cool to be back home in Philadelphia and reconnecting with my past! — at Einstein Medical Center Montgomery.
