John came to Jefferson Einstein Montgomery Hospital for a second surgical opinion. We explained that arterial grafting has better long-term outcomes over vein grafts from the leg. Arterial grafting includes the use of both internal mammary arteries, and often radial arteries from the arm. We also explained our technique of minimally invasive endoscopic radial artery harvesting, leaving virtually no pain or scar in patients’ arms.

 

John underwent coronary artery bypass graft surgery with arterial grafting and is being discharged to home on post-operative day 4, with no pain or issues —a complete success for a young patient that will yield him his best prognosis!
