This 64–year old patient serves as a Crisis Manager at the Guardian Life Insurance Company when he suddenly was faced with a crisis of his own life! With permission from the patient to post, Mr. Miller describes how he developed sepsis from a Strep infection that spread through his bloodstream and infected his aortic valve, causing destruction of the valve and its attachments to the heart.
He was diagnosed quickly by our Cardiology Consultants of Philadelphia (CCP) group and underwent emergency cardiac catheterization, followed by emergency aortic valve replacement surgery and reconstruction.
His sepsis quickly resolved and he is heading home only 5 days after this life-saving open-heart surgery at Jefferson Einstein Montgomery Hospital. Listen to his compelling story!
